IJ Start Canon Pixma TS6260 Configuration– The use of five inks allows the PIXMA TS6260 to produce text and color documents of the highest quality. But, of course, it also means it’s more expensive to run than a conventional printer that uses only four.
However, Canon XXL cartridges help bring overall operating costs to more affordable levels – especially if you need to print lots of photos and color documents.
If you just need a basic printer for plain text documents and occasional autograph, then you should probably stick to a more basic four-color printer. But if you do not mind paying a bit more for really high quality text and graphics, then the PIXMA TS6260 is a great choice.
Canon recently introduced its first “rechargeable” inkjet printers, which use affordable ink bottles, rather than expensive ink cartridges, drastically reducing the long-term cost of buying inkjet printers. replacement inks. The PIXMA TS6260 is available on Amazon at £ 149, which is relatively high for a home printer.
However, its five-color printing system is designed for home users who are willing to pay a bit more for the highest quality text, graphics and photo printing.
This is a less expensive option compared to the Pixma TR8550 and PIXMA TS8050, going through the PRT.
Like most inkjet printers, the TS6260 uses four inks – cyan, magenta, yellow and black (or “CMYK”) – for graphics and color photos.
It is packed with useful features too, including a 1200x2400dpi scanner and copier, and automatic duplex (duplex) printing. Connectivity options include both USB and Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as Apple Printing for iOS devices, and Mopria for Android.
There are two trays of paper, with the front tray holding 100 sheets of A4 paper, while the rear tray is specifically designed for glossy photo paper and envelopes. You can even print on special stickers and magnetic papers that will allow you to attach your designs to a refrigerator door or other surfaces.
And all of these features are tight in a compact, low profile design that stands just 139mm high, 372mm wide and 315mm deep, so it will fit easily on a shelf or desk even in smaller rooms where space is a little tight. The printer is available in black or white – although the white model is called the TS6251.
Canon cites a speed of 15 pages per minute when printing mono text documents. Our tests with a number of words and PDF text files actually came to 14 ppm, but it’s still pretty fast for most home users, and will allow you to print longer documents, such as reports school in no time.
The print quality is also excellent, thanks to the pigmented ink, which produces crisp and smooth text characters that can give more expensive laser printers a run for their money.
Color documents containing text and graphics are a bit slower – we got 7.5ppm, rather than the 10ppm quoted by Canon, but, again, it’s perfectly appropriate for everyday use at home.
Photo printing is good too, taking only 30 seconds for a 4x6in postcard print with very bold and vivid colors and a strong contrast.
It is difficult to blame the print quality provided by the TS6260. But, inevitably, the five ink cartridges that the printer uses do push up the running costs a bit. The issues are made even more complicated by the fact that each ink cartridge is available in three different sizes-standard, XL, and XXL-and that Canon estimates the different number of pages for each individual cartridge.
The standard pigmented black ink costs £ 11.49, but lasts for only about 200 pages, which equates to a cost of 5.75 per page. We suggest you skip the XL cartridges, and opt for the XXL option instead. This cartridge is almost twice as expensive, at £ 21.49, but lasts for 600 pages, bringing the cost per page down to around 3
